Welcome to my little Etsy shop where I sell hand embroidered figurative art and portriture.

Just a little about my background:

My name is Lily and I use thread, antique fabrics, shiny beads, sequins and lace to create life-like embroidered portraits. I am mostly self-taught but I had a lot of support from my mother who is very talented with anything to do with a needle.

My inspiration comes from all sorts of things; from old photographs of unknown people, to photos of old and mostly forgotten actresses of Edwardian and silent movie era as well as saint iconography and my own drawings and sketches.

I use a combination of techniques in my work which I like to vary from portrait to portrait. Though I especially love incorporating black-work, applique and all manner of beadwork into my portraits.
